We are delighted to offer teachers and students of all ages (K-Grade 12) the opportunity to attend our Dance St. Louis 2010-2011 Young People’s Performance by the world-renowned Houston Ballet on Friday, Oct. 8 at 11 AM at the Touhill Performing Arts Center at University of MO-St. Louis.

The Young People’s Performance is an hour-long educational program featuring dazzling, live professional dance performance with a young audience in mind. We provide a Teacher Guide, mailed in advance, packed with information and activities, and aligned with state and national educational standards. Tickets are only $5 per student, with one free chaperone ticket for every ten tickets purchased.

Houston Ballet

Houston Ballet, one of America’s premier ballet companies, will perform a virtuoso classical program with narration, including excerpts from Balanchine’s masterwork Apollo performed to music by Stravinsky, as well as two contemporary ballets, Falling and Hush. The lively and romantic Falling is set to Mozart’s fizzy Salzburg Symphonies. Hush is a comic glimpse into the backstage lives of a family of theatrical performers, with an offbeat soundtrack by cellist Yo-Yo Ma and storyteller/jazz improviser Bobby McFerrin.

Tickets go on sale Monday, Aug. 9 at 9:30 AM. To reserve your seats, call 314.534.6622 or stop by the Dance St. Louis box office. Young People’s Performances have been sell-outs for the last two seasons, so don’t delay!
