Shake it!
Our boss did! Watch Dance St. Louis Artistic & Executive Director Michael Uthoff in his rendition of the Elaine dance (remember? From Seinfeld!). Then, plan to shimmy your way down to our auditions! Read on for more information.

When:  Saturday, August 14   //   10 AM-noon

Where:  Centene Center for Arts & Education 3rd floor dance studio (3547 Olive Street, in Grand Center one block east of the Fox Theatre)

Who:  St. Louisans who like to move! We need EVERYONE: young, old, thin, thick—all shapes, sizes, colors, and ages!

What:  Dance St. Louis is creating a new advertising campaign for the 2010-2011 season. We want people who will go all-out to show their love of dance by doing their own creative dances in the campaign’s television commercials. Just come ready to move and groove as you normally would at home, with friends, at a wedding or other event. We’re not looking for people who dance like professionals, so don’t worry if you’re not a “dancer”!

More details:  Participants can audition solo or in small groups (for instance, a grandparent and child, husband and wife, small group of friends, etc.). Participants will dance for 30 seconds to pre-determined music of our choice. The music will fade when the 30 seconds are finished. No need to prepare, just bring your smile and your good energy!

A certain number of participants will be selected to participate in filming for Dance St. Louis’ Get Your Dance On, STL! campaign. You must be in the St. Louis area on Sunday, August 29 for the filming of the TV commercial.

Participation is on a volunteer basis. As a thank-you from Dance St. Louis, participants will receive four complimentary tickets to their choice of one of these events in our 2010-2011 season:  Houston Ballet, The Joffrey Ballet in Nutcracker at the Fox, Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, MOMIX in Botanica or SPRING TO DANCE® FESTIVAL 2011.

Attire:  Come camera-ready and look your best! At the same time, clothes should be comfortable and easy to move in.
